Welcome to the Brainstorm, a group of ideas meant for the Development team in hopes of sparking up more ideas and hopefully creating a much more interesting and fun end product!

To avoid confusion, each suggestion/idea will be within its own category. So, if you're out of ideas or just want a different perspective on things - this is the page for you.

Medical (Yang) release:

Spoiler

Iryuu Ninjutsu - So far from what we've seen the Medical ninjutsu is more focused on offense then the "Yang" / healing counterparts we've talked about recently. I'd get why too, having a healing spec as a mastery is hard to add without everyone picking it up cuz sustain in PvP is overall just good.

Some ideas came to mind.
Perhaps Medical ninjutsu, Sage Palm (most commonly seen in the show) could be a channel spell that ticks. Each tick you'd regain HP. But what's the draw back of using it? Other then the use of chakra, which everything uses as a base I think the channel would make it a could way to deal with it being commonly used. Simple Ninja tools, like a shuriken, would stop the channel.

Then again, you could just run around and channel right? Depends on what you'd like it to do. Option One: A requirement is placed that you need to stand still to use it. But in return you are able to heal in a very small AoE. (You hide and heal your allies, they can run by you to gain some sustain while the enemy needs to deal with you to stop it.)
Option two. Make it so that you can move at a slower rate but you can only heal one target.

Yin and Yang release explained, possible mixing of chakra natures with them:

Spoiler

With Medical changing to Yang, some realizations came to mind how to help ease the confusion around Ying and Yang releases  and the possibility of combining them with Elementals if the team wishes to do so in the future to create Kekkei Genkai that canon wise weren't explained.

Yin release - is a release type that takes away from the target. For instance, Genjutsu can take away your sense of smell, sight, and so on. Shadow Possesion takes away movement.
Yang release - the ability to create. Stimulating cell growth in the form of Iryuu Ninjutsu for instance.

A cool idea on how maybe Crystal release could work - the mixture between Earth Release and Yang release. Molding the elemental chakra (Doton) with Yang release to create something more refined. Thus creating different lively shapes like the Crystal Dragon jutsu.

A cool idea on how Magnet Release could work - the mixture between Earth Release and Ying release. Molding the elemental chakra (Doton) with Yin release in order to manipulate grains of sand and affect your opponent. Slowing them down, rooting them in place, or creating walls/shields for yourself or your allies.

Sound Village Body modifications:

Spoiler

As the community decided what parts of the map will be unlocked next something came to mind while reading the theorycrafting chat. The mention of Body mods. Something very much like we've seen in part one of Naruto with the Sound team that tried to kill off team 7 in order to get to Sasuke.

How could this be added? Well. Lets get into things.

Body modifications could be done as a mastery. Lets say you've picked up the quest to get air canons built into your arms, just like in the anime. When you complete the quest you would earn a buff and new spells. (For instance a cone air cutter , a single target long range air bullet, a pushback ability to allow kiting...) However you'd lose the ability to wear weapons. Your air canons would replace your auto attacks with ranged attacks. A simpler way of doing this is giving the player a "bow" weapon that can't be taken off - thus simulating the same effect. This way the user would dedicate themselves to a build based around their new modification.

With this you could make full range builds, focused on kiting. You'd be dashing around, trying to CC your opponent and weave in canon shots. Always trying to keep your opponents away. Something like Hunter gameplay in WoW.

Kinjutsu

Spoiler

Kinjutsu, or rather Forbidden Jutsu is a practice that is even frowned upon in the Shinobi World. They are well kept secrets and are very rare in nature. These for the most part aren't a collection of abilities, but rather one singular jutsu. The rare case of multiple jutsu from one Kinjutsu that comes to mind would be "Earth Grudge Fear" or "Jiongu" used by Kakuzu.

So how would these be added into the game?

Well, thinking about it every Kinjutsu is known for major drawbacks - hence why they are Kinjutsu. For great power comes a major drawback. For instance the Curse mark is known for gradually taking more and more chakra from the user when they use their chakra network.  Lets say that you finish the questline required and obtain the ability "Curse mark stage 1". It would be a passive which would make your spells cost more chakra, each time you'd be putting more chakra into the seal until you gained...20 stacks lets say. That would unlock it, giving you AP, Movement Speed, Haste. However it will tick away low amounts of HP from you until you reach a critical %. For the brief while you are low, you'd turn into a glass canon - but it would be something that could save you or give your opponent the advantage if they'd know how to deal with it.

Kinjutsu shouldn't be easy to get, but rather it would take hard quest chains that might take a full party to finish. Materials to bring it over time to eventually get rewarded. The same theory used with the curse mark can be used for Kakuzu's ability, and every other Kinjutsu. Have prerequisites. For instance, Mastery of Doton and two other elements of your choice. When you learn Jiongu, you're given a stance which locks you out of the three elements but gives you a whole new variety of skills. Summoning Kakuzu's masks that fire off abilities at enemies, and making you more tanky.

You could also lean into making it more player driven by requiring a High rank Yang Mastery user to help you with certain Kinjutsu. Healing your injuries, taking in the materials you've gathered and injecting them into you.. again a lot of ways to make this happen.

Rules to make a good Forbidden Jutsu:

1. Make it feel cool. (The rule of Cool is always the best rule.)

2. Make it have draw backs which change up the pacing/dynamic of base gameplay.

3. Make it hard to obtain (Prerequisites..) . Be it time invested, or rare materials. Thus making it more worth it as an end goal.
