Can I respawn when i die from a village guardian

I'am new to thi game, so i got a sword and started exploring, but I wa attacked by a village guardian, and since i don't know how to fight properly , i died. I there any chance i could respawn  , or something, and btw can omeone explain to me how to attack and get masteries

Yes, there are Spirit Guides at all the shrines now, and there should be one at the place you went to when you died.
