  1. If we're really adamant about adding unique items and abilities, why not make them purely cosmetic. It's an RP game after all, so they don't really have to show in pvp. You are brave enough to carry a unique item, u better be able to defend it with the same level and number of abilities as everyone else. Sure, give jin a few auras, or have seven sword cosmetic that u could loot off the players wielding it even if seven swords and jin don't make any sense atm cos the lore is different from Naruto. They basically don't even exist yet if u read SS lore, so u might aswell just create your own unique weapon and RP around it. Give them RP value, not PvP value.
  2. From what i understood there might be friendly fire too, and since the techniques will be separate entities, just mindlessly spamming aoe migth destroy your own team even if u are in the same party.
  3. Screenshot/record encounters, follow the rules already set in place for pvp encounters, punish people who break the rules. It's pretty straightforward already. Drop a pvp warning emote, meaning everyone is aware that a fight is about to start, and wait for the challenged party to react to it. Drop two execution emotes after victory for the kill. If someone doesn't follow the proper steps, staff should just boot them. P.S. Add a pop-up window each time u log in your character with the whole rules list. There will be no excuse for ignorance when the rules are being shoved in your face literally each time u get in game.
  4. Hand seals system sounds nice in theory, but considering u need one hand on mouse for camera and one hand on wasd for movement, it would turn out horrible in practice when you's have to take one hand off cam or movement to type out your seals.
  5. Thing about wow traditional spell system if that it relies on numbers and stats, while the skillshot system relies on player positioning and timing. I'd rather have a system that you need to actually practice to get good at rather than one that requires just a grind and stat padding to eventually end up simply stomping over people that have significantly lower stats. Stats mean the people who get to grind the most and first get to be on top of the food chain, stopping anyone that follows from grinding to catch up. Skill based system removes that issue.
  6. Some of the servers are coming back up for me.

    Quarantine

That's rough. At least my company assured us they will provide sick leave in case of a quarantine and they won't take away from the yearly sick leave we have. It's gonna be a special case.

    Faith of Va'al

I'm completely fine with that. Thank you for your input, but i will be going forward with my "unoriginal" character background despite your opinions about it. I'm not seeking your appreciation nor your approval. The whole concept clearly went over your head. Take care. /wave

    Faith of Va'al

There's a character who's whole lore is based on religion, including his ability. Hidan gained his immortality from experimenting with Jashin's (a deity) techniques. Read up on naruto lore before you claim your point of view to be "fact", my friend. And since this is based on naruto, but doesn't follow the same storyline, there can be different religions/cults similar to Jashin. But hey, if you don't feel like participating in such RP, by all means don't. The world will be massive so you can play out your own stories, host your own events without having to play in mine. Just refrain from your attempts to shoot down my, or any other person's ideas for that matter when you don't really have the authority to do so. The team will contact me if i'm going off bounds, thank you. Have a wonderful day.

    Faith of Va'al

Faith exists in any universe. People can believe in anything as long as it keeps them moving forward. Custom lore probably doesn't involve the Sage of Six paths by the way. /shrug As for the search itself, being an impossible goal doesn't mean one can't still work towards it. Making your end game goal something unreachable only means you'll always have something to RP towards. I appreciate the feedback, but i've specifically tailored each story for this server in particular to use the information provided in them for event plots in the future. The last picture is a backlink to the info card of the character this story is tied to. Story's all made up, art is from DMC5.

    Faith of Va'al

Religion played a significant role in the lives of Aojin’s people, within the Kuroi Ken tribe. Although they predominantly worshipped warrior gods, searching to get blessed with strength and health, a handful of people in the tribe still represented other, less popular deities. Aojin was a believer in the power of the gods, thus representatives of each deity were invited into the tribal council, and one of these representatives was Kazuto, a Va’al worshipper and Aojin’s uncle. From an early age, Mukuro’s lack of interest in the warrior gods was obvious, but the boy was drawn to his uncle, adopting the old man’s beliefs as he listened to Kazuto’s stories. Va’al was a simple man that ascended to godhood just as he was about to take his last breath, postponing his own death as he claimed his spot among the other deities. Believers in Va’al say that every man’s destiny is already written down, and only a chosen few have the power to change what’s already in “The book of Fate “, but Va’al managed to read from the book, claiming it as his own when he ascended. When Mukuro turned twenty, Kazuto passed away of old age, so as the man’s only apprentice in the faith of Va’al, Mukuro became the new representative and inherited a spot in the council along with the markings of Va’al and his uncle’s notebook. He was branded with black tattoos over his whole body as it was required in order to preach in Va’al’s name and gained access to a lot of knowledge his uncle kept hidden in the notebook, knowledge that would give the young adult the potential to become of of the chosen few that holds his fate in his own hands. Despite the new found knowledge, fate wasn’t kind to Mukuro since he lost his position in the council only six months after Kazuto’s death when the rest of the representatives refused to accept Mukuro as follower of Va’al. This didn’t affect the young man’s beliefs in the slightest though as he continued his research, gathering reading materials related to Va’al to add to Kazuto’s notes as he traveled with the rest of the clan. He learned about forgotten lands, lost objects, mythical creatures and godly deeds across the world which only fueled his craving for more knowledge. Eventually, only reading about it wasn’t enough for Mukuro anymore so he decided to search for the lands and creatures mentioned in the notes, but his father never approved of his plans. For years, Mukuro respected Aojin’s wishes and locked away his desire to experience all the greatness described in Kazuto’s book, but after that one particular night when he cut his ties with his family by crippling his siblings, Mukuro took fate in his own hands and ventured out, determined to find and study Va’al’s influence in the world. Va’al creatures described in Kazuto’s notes: Envoy of Va’al. Displayed as a horned bird with dark blue feathers and the gift of speech to carry Va’al’s message to his most devout followers. Fury of Va’al. Most commonly taking the shape of a black panther even though it has the ability to reshape and weaponize any part of its body in order to carry out punishments in Va’al’s name. Protector of Va’al: Described as a massive and deformed humanoid said to guard the tomb where Va’al’s earthly body was laid to rest after his ascension to godhood. Defiler: Once Va’al’s Protector, he broke the pact with his god when he tried to consume Va’al’s body. After failing his attempt, the Defiler was cursed to roam earth forever famished and unable to sate his hunger. Hound of Va’al: Described as a three headed massive hound. It is said the hound can outrun anything and hiding is pointless because of it’s acute sense of smell. If one finds himself with a Va’al hound in his tracks, the only options are to fight or die.

    The Rebellion

When Aojin brought together his nomadic tribe and named it Kuroi Ken (The Black Fist) he also brought many of the traditions that were passed down for generations in his family. One of these traditions was “The warrior’s rite of passage” At the age of sixteen, all the future warriors had to venture off in the wilderness, armed only with a stone dagger. The purpose of this journey was to hunt down the most dangerous beast they could encounter in order to use its bones to create a weapon that would become the symbol of each individual warrior’s resolve. The weapons would often be named after the beasts they were meant to slay. As time passed, the hunting ceremony and beast carving became a symbolic ritual while the weapon itself was later crafted by experienced smiths, following each individual’s wishes. The young warriors most commonly requested heavy axes or two handed swords, earning more respect from their elders as the weight of the weapons got higher. Aojin’s children eventually went through this rite of passage, the two older boys filling their father’s heart with pride and joy with their accomplishments. Mukuro however had different plans. Finding the heavy weapons to be extremely inefficient he broke away from the pattern and had the smiths forge him: The Rebellion. A thin, light, double edged blade with a pointy tip and an unusual handle, resembling a cane. When confronted by his father on this peculiar and, following the tribe’s standards, rather shameful request, the young boy replied “This blade might not be as heavy as my brother’s weapons, but it’s destined to slay a beast that no one else managed to best so far. It brings death to all, and it will eventually claim your life and my sibling’s lives as well, father.”. The disappointed parent turned away from the boy, interrupting Mukuro before he could finish speaking. “Leave me, my son. You’ve wronged me enough for one day.” The Rebellion was Mukuro’s way to challenge an undefeated enemy. A warrior’s greatest rival, the passage of time itself. It’s shape symbolises the boy’s defiance in the face of time as he vows to keep fighting against it even when his bones become frail and he struggles to catch every breath. He will use the blade to support himself until the very end, refusing to kneel down in front of this all powerful enemy. To this day, Mukuro never parted from The Rebellion, his memento of his fleeting existence and the motivation to keep stepping forward despite this inevitable end he faces.
  14. A loud, bone chilling shout echoes through a camp in the woods. A few lights start flickering between the tents as the people settled there rush towards the source of the sound with torches in hand only to witness the horrifying scene left behind by Mukuro’s betrayal. Several hours earlier. “When the weight of the world is on your shoulders and it’s pushing you to your knees, become stronger! When your goals are just beyond your reach, getting further and further away, become faster! When your enemy spits and kicks dirt in your face each time he bests you, become better! The secret to survival in this world is determination and power!” These were the words of Mukuro’s father, Aojin, the first leader of the Kuroi Ken (Black Fist) tribe. The reclusive son was reading the speech out loud when one of the tents within the camp he was overwatching suddenly collapses. Down in the camp, Mukuro’s two older siblings, Naraku and Suijin were brawling again, stomping on the collapsed tent, completely disregarding their surroundings. These bouts were more and more frequent, the triggers behind them becoming more pitiful with each passing day. Anything could spark a quarrel between the two siblings, the heated debates eventually instigating fist exchanges when the stormy discussions inevitably led towards who will inherit the leadership over the tribe when the time comes. Suijin was the eldest, tall and fit with unmatched oratory skills in the tribe. He often motivated the men with his speeches before combat, inspiring them with tales of glory and riches. Naraku was the second son, slightly shorter than Sujin, but with wider shoulders. He was their father’s spitting image and an uncontested warrior of the tribe. He often spearhead attacks on their enemies, fearlessly leading his men from the front lines in combat. Witnessing the scene, Mukuro approached his brothers while they were tumbling in the dirt, struggling to make eachother forfeit, and addressed them “For pride and avarice and envy are the three fierce sparks that set all hearts ablaze. Why do you persist in this folly, my dear siblings? Why not share the burden of leadership?” “Who do you think you are, telling us what to do?” Naraku shouted as he released the older sibling to face Mukuro. “Watch your tongue, little brother. You might be blood from our blood, but if you challenge our authority, you will be punished just like anyone else! Know your place!” Suijin added as he joined Naraku, towering over the youngest sibling. Mukuro dismissively waved away the threats and turned away from the duo as he walked away. As one of the clan leader’s offspring, he still benefited from Aojin’s protection, despite being shunned by most of the clan members, including his siblings. While Naraku and Suijin constantly searched to gain more power, following the teachings of their father, the doctrine that laid the foundations of the Kuroi Ken tribe, Mukuro was pursuing his own passion for literature, prophetic texts and the search for “his destiny”. Later that night, Mukuro made his way to Suijin’s tent, approaching his sleeping brother. “And now I fell as bodies fall, for dead.” he quoted as he brought his palms together in a series of seals. Suijin’s body felt heavy as if a mountain was placed on his chest. Unable to even speak under the weight he felt, the eldest sibling could only watch in horror as Mukuro methodically carved out his tongue, stripping the man of his ability to speak. Naraku walked in to witness the scene, only to be blinded by a bright light when Mukuro focused his attention on the second sibling. A sharp pain causes Naraku to scream in terror, the bright light being replaced by pitch black darkness as his eyes were sliced by the tip of Mukuro’s blade, permanently robbing the warrior of his sight. Present time. Aojin makes his way through the crowd, falling to his knees when he spots Naraku sobbing over Suijin with gaping holes where his eyes once were. The talents they took pride in are now lost, an orator without a voice and a warrior without sight. “You will learn to work together now, my dear brothers, for It is necessity and not pleasure that compels us.” Mukuro speaks, overlooking a small settlement from a hilltop, far away from the Kuroi Ken tribe's camping ground.
  15. Pick GM mode. And my character's looks and personality will be heavily inspired by V from DMC5, with my own little background story and talent twists to fit in this new world.
  16. I find it amusing when people ignore all the cons of that dojutsu only to put the clan on a pedestal pushing forward only the pros. It's especially amusing when the team repeatedly said those abilities won't be available for player characters, at least not in the foreseeable future. Leaving aside the fact that only the main cast of the anime even achieved the advanced forms of the dojutsu and we shouldn't compare ourselves to them, those advanced forms literally blind you as you use them. That's a pretty big handicap in RP if you ask me. Also, you can have twenty talents and still be outshined by a two talent character because in an RP scene writing skill is the only thing that matters. Or just hammer in the point with the servers default conflict resolution if you can't reach a consensus through emotes. As i understood, pvp will be focused more on payer skill rather than character stats anyway, so the number of talents probably won't mater from that perspective either. Maybe some will pick only a clan, or only one ninjutsu element with no other talents and become real threats in this new world. I guess we'll just wait and see.
  17. Not here to yuck your yum, but Uchiha's dojutsu ain't as "saucy" as you make it out to be, and having one less talent won't handicap you in RP. Depending on pvp mechanics, it might make it more challenging to have one less talent, but RP depends only on your writing skill.
  18. Since the alpha takes place 100 years before the hidden villages, can you be an academy student without an academy? I think you can be someone's trainee or something along those lines maybe o.o To answer the question though, this time around i will be starting off as a young adult with some experience under his belt.
